Dear Doctor,
Do you realize that the main skill in Orthodontics is a correct diagnosis and treatment plan?
Well here is your opportunity to have a Specialist Orthodontist look at your patient's records and offer a "non-commercial" specialist diagnosis to yours. To avail yourself of this service it is absolutely essential that you initially prepare your own treatment plan for the patient and make sure that impeccable records are sent for analysis. The minimum records requirement is:
- Properly trimmed orthodontic study models
- A lateral cephalometric radiograph (traced with the analysis you are most familiar with)
- An OPG radiograph (panoramic view)
- Extra oral photographs of the patient at rest and during smiling
In addition to these basic records it would be in your won interest to provide the following information:
- Right and left views of the temporomandibular joint (these should be "corrected" transcranial views if the patient has a history of TMD)
- Intra oral photographs of the dental arches from the occlusal, lateral and frontal views
- A frontal PA Skull radiograph (traced in the analysis you are most familiar with)
- A chirodontic evaluation of the patient if you suspect cranial distortions
- A temporomandibular joint evaluation, including range of motion measurements.
These records should be couriered to Unit 6 / 85 Bourke Rd, Alexandria NSW 2015, Sydney Australia with a blank audiocassette. The audiocassette may be a standard size or a micro cassette (such as used in dictaphones). The same Courier Company, who delivered the records, should provide a prepaid return satchel (correctly labeled with your address and contact phone number) for EODO to mail the orthodontic second opinion and return your original patient information.
The turn-a-round time for a "taped consultation" is normally two weeks. Visa or Mastercard details, with expiry date an name of cardholder, must be enclosed with the records. The cost for a complete diagnosis is $199.00, inclusive of GST, but this does not include return freight charges. These separate charges are the responsibility of the doctor seeking the specialist second diagnosis.
Alternatively, doctors attending any EODO seminars are allowed to bring one of their patients records for a review of their diagnosis and treatment plan at NO CHARGE. This way course participants really obtain the value from the registration fee. If a doctor plans to bring their patient's records to an EODO seminar it is important that booking is made with Brenda on (02) 8338-9420 so that the Orthodontist running the seminar is able to allocate sufficient time to review the case records. This is done in a group session format.
The taped personal "one on one" consultation will assist doctors with their case presentation, afford a specialist diagnosis for medico-legal protection, and improve the doctors post graduate education in the field of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics.
